1937, ch. 337, sec. 224K.

292. In the event that the number of names or questions submitted
for vote at any election is too large for practicable use of voting machines,
then the Board of Supervisors of Elections of Montgomery County may
supply paper ballots in the usual form for use in all precincts and dis-
tricts of said county, including polling places wherein voting machines may
have been installed.

293. Any Judge or Clerk of Election, or other person, who shall violate
any of the provisions of this chapter, or who shall attempt or offer to register
a vote, or who shall register a vote upon any voting machine in any polling
place in Montgomery County, without having had lawfully issued to him
or her an official voter's certificate as hereinbefore provided; and any
person who shall tamper with, injure, or attempt to injure or deface any
voting machine or equipment used in connection therewith, used or to be
used in any election in Montgomery County, or who shall unlawfully break
or attempt to break any official seal placed upon any such voting machine;
or who shall make or have in his or her possession without proper authority
any key for any such voting machine, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction of any of such offenses shall be sentenced to undergo
imprisonment for not more than one year, or pay a fine not exceeding
one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), or both such fine and imprisonment in
the discretion of the Court.

1939, ch. 687, sec. 224AA.

294. The Board of Supervisors of Election of any county, with the
approval of the Board of County Commissioners of said county, are au-
thorized and empowered to purchase, rent, lease or otherwise acquire such
number of voting machines as may be required to equip any or all of the
polling places in said county as now established or as may hereafter be
established, such voting machines to be acquired in such manner and on
such terms as may be agreed upon by and between the Board of Super-
visors of Election and the Board of County Commissioners of said County.
The Board of County Commissioners of said County, for the purpose of
such purchase, or rent or lease of voting machines, may provide by con-
tract for payment therefor upon such terms and in instalments of such
amounts and payable at such times as the Board of County Commissioners
shall deem for the best interest of the county. In the event of the leasing,
rental or other acquisition of voting machines, such machines shall not be
assessable for the purpose of State, County or municipal taxation, and
shall be exempt from tax.

295. The Board of Supervisors of Election of any county, is authorized
to rearrange, consolidate, subdivide or otherwise re-establish precinct
or polling place boundaries for the purpose of establishing polling places
best suited, in the judgment of the said Board of Supervisors of Election,
for the use of voting machines; provided, however, that at least one voting
machine shall be furnished for each unit of four hundred voters and an
