thousand or fractional part thereof from the catcher, if due by him, and
to remit weekly to the Conservation Department and by it to the State
Comptroller.

Said license shall be good for the year of issuance only.

101C. Any person violating the provisions of the two preceding sec-
tions, upon conviction before a justice of the peace or court of competent
jurisdiction, shall be fined the sum of $25. 00 or be committed to jail
until said fine is paid. 1

Terrapins—Diamond Back and Salt Water. 2

1929, ch. 266, sec. 1.

102. It shall be unlawful for any person to take or catch or have in
possession in this State any salt water terrapin, diamond back terrapin or
skilpots and sliders, between the first day of April and the thirty-first day
of October in any year, both dates inclusive.

It shall be unlawful for any person to have in possession in this State
any terrapin mentioned in Section 102, during any closed season, taken or
caught within the State of Maryland or in any other state, territory or
country.

It shall be unlawful for any person to purchase and place in pen or pens,
or take from said pen or pens, any terrapin to be offered for sale, barter
or exchange during any closed season. Provided, however, terrapin alive
may be held in pens built in the water used by dealers or persons for propa-
gation purposes during the closed season.

103. It shall be unlawful for any person to take or catch or have in
possession any terrapin mentioned in this sub-title less than five inches in
length, measurement to be made on the bottom shell.

104. It shall be unlawful for any person to interfere with or in any
manner take or destroy any terrapin eggs or have same in possession at
any time, provided, however, the possession of said eggs shall not apply to
persons owning pens built in the water, which are used for propagation
purposes during the closed season.

tive upon the sale by the Board of Public Works of the first $125, 000 of bonds au-
thorized by ch. 511 of acts of 1931.
