him compensation only for the time during which he has actually served.
Provided, that in St. Mary's County judges and clerks of election shall be
paid an additional fifty cents each per hour for every hour of work done
after the closing of the polls on any election day, including work done on
the day following such election day. Provided, that in Howard County
the judges, whether acting as or sitting as officers of registration and
clerks of elections, shall be allowed six dollars ($6. 00) per day; and the
fractions of a day shall be allowed for at the rate of sixty cents per hour.
Provided, that in Montgomery County the judges, when acting as officers
of registration, shall be allowed and paid the sum of eight dollars ($8. 00)
per day and shall be paid an additional sum of fifty cents per hour for
each hour of work done after the closing of the books of registration, or
for any time in excess of ten hours per day which is expended in connec-
tion with their duties required by law in locating voters on suspect lists,
and preparing and mailing notices, and such judges, when acting as
judges of elections and the clerks of elections shall be paid the sum of
eight dollars per day for each election conducted by them for their
services until the hour of the closing of the polls and shall be paid an.
additional sum of fifty cents per hour for each hour thereafter.

127. The compensation of all judges and clerks of election in the City
of Baltimore and in the Counties shall be increased two dollars ($2. 00)
per day over and above the amount now allowed and paid under existing
provisions of law. The Boards of Supervisors of Elections of the several
counties shall have power, with the consent of the County Commissioners
to increase the compensation of the registration officials not more than
$2. 00 per day in addition to the amount now allowed and paid under
the existing provisions of law. Provided, however, that this section shall
not apply to Queen Anne's County or Worcester County. J I

131. It shall be the duty of the Attorney-General within three months
after the adoption of this Article to prepare instructions and blank forms
necessary for the use of the officers of registration and of election created
by this Article; and this Article, with said forms and instructions so
prepared, and with other provisions of the constitution and laws touching
the same matters, and with a proper index thereto, shall be published by
the Secretary of State and shall be distributed by him to the Supervisors
of Elections in quantities sufficient to supply the judges of election and
other officers requiring the same. Provided, however, that the Secretary
of State, in his discretion, may publish the changes in said Article and
in the instructions in the form of a supplement. The expenses of printing
shall be paid from the treasury of the State and the sum of one thousand
dollars per annum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby
