784 ARTICLE 3.

said ballots were deposited provided, however, that on the third Saturday
of May, 1912, five members of the teaching force of Baltimore County
shall be elected in the manner provided, except the said ballots shall be
deposited with the Board of County School Commissioners of Baltimore
County, which Board shall examine such ballots and give to each voter
receiving a vote credit therefor, and the five teachers receiving .the highest
number of votes under said ballots shall be members of said Board of
Trustees of the Teachers' Retirement Fund of Baltimore County until
the members elected in the year 1913 shall become members of said Board
of Trustees of the Teachers' Retirement Fund of Baltimore County. The
Board of County Commissioners of Baltimore County shall publicly an-
nounce the result of said election not later than June 15, 1912. As soon
as practicable after the passage of this Act, the county superintendent- of
public education of Baltimore County shall call a meeting of said Board
of Trustees of the Teachers' Retirement Fund of Baltmore County.

Secs. 723-741 have been superseded by the establishment of a State Teachers
Retirement System. See 1929 Supplement to Annotated Code, Art. 77, secs. 92-105.

724. The members of the said Board of Trustees of the Teachers' Re-
tirement Fund of Baltimore County shall hold office until their successors
are elected and become members, as provided by the preceding section.
In case of a vacancy in said Board of Trustees of the Teachers' Retire-
ment Fund of Baltimore County by reason of death, resignation or through
any other cause of a member of the teaching force, the Board of Trustees
of the Teachers' Retirement Fund of Baltimore County shall elect a
member of said teaching force as a member of said Board of Trustees of
the Teachers' Retirement Fund of Baltimore County for the unexpired
term of the person who has ceased to be such. In case of a vacancy on
said Board of Trustees of the Teachers' Retirement Fund of Baltimore
County by reason of death, resignation or through any other cause of a
member of the Board of County School Commissioners of Baltimore
County, said Board of County School Commissioners of Baltimore County
shall forthwith elect one of its members as a member of said Board of
Trustees of the Teachers' Retirement Fund of Baltimore County for the
unexpired term of the person who has ceased to be such.

725. A majority of said Board of Trustees of the Teachers' Retire-
ment Fund of Baltimore County shall constitute a quorum for the trans-
action of all business, and the said Board of Trustees of the Teachers'
Retirement Fund of Baltimore County shall have full power to make and
enforce all by-laws, rules and orders that it may deem necessary or appro-
priate to carry out the purposes of this Act; and said Board of Trustees
of the Teachers' Retirement Fund of Baltimore County may take by gift,
grant, devise or bequest any money, personal property, real estate or any
interest therein, and any such gift, grant, devise or bequest may be abso-
lute or upon the condition that only the rents, profits and income arising
