demned, opened, graded and constructed, it shall be the duty of the exam-
iner, or of the examiners, to have the grade established on such street,
avenue or alley, or portion thereof, and the same shall be graded and con-
structed in accordance with such grade; and in establishing any grade,
the location of the streets, avenues or alleys already laid off and adjacent
thereto and the general topography of the surrounding grounds must be
token into consideration.

625. Whenever it may be desirable to have any street or avenue, which
may have been adready laid off, extended beyond its terminus, the owners
of a majority of front feet of ground bounding and fronting on any por-
tion of said street or avenue, as laid off, and including the line of the pro-
posed extension, may make application to the County Commissioners of
Baltimore County, in writing, setting forth the street or avenue that they
desire to have extended and the line (approximate distance) and the point
of termination of such proposed extension, and when said application is
presented, the County Commissioners of Baltimore County shall appoint
one examiner or three examiners in the manner hereinafter provided for,
whose dutv it shall be to lay off and extend said streets or avenue in ac-
cordance with said application 'and the provisions of this subtitle of this
Article; but said street or avenue shall be laid off and extended in con-
formity with the streets and avenues of Baltimore City and with the
streets and avenues already laid off in Baltimore County, so far as prac-
ticaible; and before any examiner or examiners shall proceed to act in the
premises he or they shall take an oath or affirmation before some justice
of the peace of the State, in and for Baltimo:-e County, that he or they will
well and truly lay off and extend the said street or avenue and will in all
respects act without prejudice or partiality in the matter; and after hav-
ing made such oath or affirmation the examiner or examiners shall give
at least ten days' notice by publication in one or more newspapers pub-
lished in Baltimore County and one newspaper of general circulation pub-
lished in Baltimore City that said application has been made, and after
such notice the said examiner or examiners shall cause said street or
avenue to be laid off and extended and properly marked with so many
and such durable landmarks as the examiner or examiners may think
necessary and cause to be made a plat of the extension of said street or
avenue, with proper explanations; and when said plat and explanations
are completed, shall return and file same with the County Commissioners
of Baltimore County, and said examiner or examiners shall, within ten
days after such return and filing, give notice in at least one newspaper
published in Baltimore County and one newspaper of general circulation
published in Baltimore City once a week for three successive weeks that
said plat with explanations has been filed in the office of the County Com-
missioners of Baltimore County, and if no objections are filed to said plat
and return within thirty days after the first day of publication of said
