farm, prison workshop or place for the detention and labor of convicts
without having first obtained the permit set forth in Section 547 of this
subtitle, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction
thereof shall be fined not more than one hundred dollars or imprisoned
for not more than thirty days, or be both fined and imprisoned in the
discretion of the court. And each and every day that any such person
or officer shall conduct or maintain any such prison, farm, prison work-
shop or place for the detention and labor of convicts in violation of the
preceding section of this Act shall constitute a separate offense within
the meaning of this Act.

RACING.

1922, ch. 481. B. Co. C. (1928), sec. 549.

549. All money received by the Treasurer of Baltimore County from
the Maryland Racing Commission shall be used and expended for the
repair and construction of public county roads in Baltimore County,
except the sum of two thousand ($2,000) dollars, which sum shall be
paid annually by said treasurer to the White Hall Farmers' Club and
Improvement Association, and except the sum of two thousand ($2,000)
dollars, which said sum shall be paid annually by said treasurer to the
Maryland State Fair and Agriculture Society of Baltimore County.

Ch. 77, Acts of 1912, was repealed by ch. 273, Acts 1920. See Art. 78B of Anno-
tated Code.

1918, ch. 264.

549A. Nothing contained in the Act of the General Assembly of 1918,
entitled "An Act to Extend the Limits of Baltimore City by Including
Therein Parts of Baltimore County and Anne Arundel County," shall
operate to effect any race track or racing or the jurisdiction of any racing
commission or the rights and powers of said commission or its licensees
within the limits defined by the said Act; it being the intent of this Act
that such race tracks and the racing thereon shall continue to be subject
to the jurisdiction of the present Racing Commission of Baltimore County
and be governed only by the laws in existence prior to the first day of
January, 1918, including such Acts of the General Assembly concerning
race tracks and racing applicable to the Racing Commission of Baltimore
County, as may be passed by the present General Assembly; and by such
laws as may be hereafter enacted; provided, that all license fees collected by
said Racing Commission of Baltimore County shall be applied to the
same purposes as are now prescribed by the laws applicable to said Racing
Commission of Baltimore County, including any amendments thereof
passed at the present session of the General Assembly.
