476. And upon receiving such warrant the said keeper may sell such
horse, mare, gelding, mule, horned cattle or vehicle at public auction at
some place in said county, after giving ten days' notice in one paper in
Baltimore County and hand-bills set up in the vicinity of such sale of
the time, place and manner of sale, and after deducting the amount due
for keeping and all expenses of said sale shall pay the surplus, if any,
to the owner.

479. That the Board of County Commissioners of Baltimore County,
at the time of the annual tax levy for this year, and each succeeding year,
are hereby authorized, directed and required to make a special annual
levy of such amount as may be mentioned in the petition hereinafter re-
ferred to on each one hundred dollars of the whole assessable real estate
in the village of Lansdowne, in Baltimore County, to be collected as other-
county taxes in said county are collected, and paid over by the said Coun-
ty Commissioners to the Treasurer of the Lansdowne Improvement Asso-
ciation of Baltimore County, to be used by said association exclusively
for the improvement of the roads and sidewalks of said village of Lans-
downe; provided, twenty or more persons residing in said village and
owning such taxable real estate in said village shall, prior to each annual
levy, petition the said County Commissioners asking such special levy
to be made, and in said petition mentioning the amount desired to be spe-
cially levied, provided the same shall not exceed the sum of twenty cents,
on each hundred dollars of assessable property as aforesaid; provided,
however, that all taxes collected under the provisions of this Act and
turned over to the Treasurer of said Lansdowne Improvement Associa-
tion of Baltimore County shall be expended by the road supervisor of the
Thirteenth Election District of Baltimore County under the; direction of
two members of the Lansdowne Improvement Association of Baltimore
County, to be appointed by said association in such manner as may be
provided by its constitution and by-laws.

480. For the purposes of this Act the metes and bounds of the village-
of Lansdowne shall be deemed and taken to be as follows:

Being bounded on the west by the Hammonds Ferry Road, on the north
by a road known as the Mine Bank Road, said to be twenty feet wide,
extending from the Hammond Ferry Road to the property of the Whit-
taker estate; on the east by the property of the Whittaker estate, Mt.
