passed at the January session of the year 1902, and Chapter 185 of the
Acts passed at said January session of the year 1902, and Chapter 223
of the Acts passed at said January session of the year 1902, each and all
of which are hereby specially excepted from repeal by anything in this
Act contained, and each and all of which shall remain in full force and
effect, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Act. But all other
Acts or parts of Acts in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

225. The Mayor and Council of Pocomoke City are invested with
power to contract with the Citizens Power and Light Company of Poco-
moke City, Maryland, or the Pocomoke Telephone Company of Pocomoke
City, Maryland, for the use of the poles and wires of either or both of
said bodies corporate for the purpose of supplying Pocomoke City with
a fire-alarm system, and for such length of time and upon such terms as
the Mayor and Council of Pocomoke City may deem for the best interest
of the town.

226. Annually on the first day of April next succeeding each levy of
County taxes, the Board of County Commissioners of Worcester County
shall pay to the Mayor and Council of Pocomoke City one-half of all sums
levied by said County Commissioners for road and bridge taxes upon
property within the corporate limits of Pocomoke City, and collected
within the preceding twelve months, to be expended by the Mayor and
Council of Pocomoke City for the repair, maintenance and improvement
of the streets and roads within the corporate limits of Pocomoke City, as
a part of the public roads of Worcester County.

227. The words "Road and Bridge Taxes" as used in Section 226 shall
include and embrace every sum or item in the annual levy of county taxes
applied to or to be applied to the supervision, maintenance or improve-
ment of the county roads and bridges, embracing labor, appliances and
materials, except only such sums as are levied to the Pocomoke Bridge
Company and the Ocean City Bridge Company.

228. It shall not be lawful for any person to throw or place into the
waters of the Pocomoke river, for the purpose of taking or destroying
fish therein, any lime, coculus indicus, otherwise called Indian cockle, or
any other poisonous weed or substance, whether mixed with any other
substance or not; every person so offending shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, before any justice of the peace,
in the name of the State, shall be punished by a fine, in the discretion of
