thereafter remain subject to taxation to the same extent as all other
property in said annexed territory and in accordance with the provisions
of this Act.
Subject at all times to the aforesaid exemption with respect to farm
lands comprising five (5) acres or more, the provisions of the Charter
of the City of Salisbury with regard to assessment of property for taxa-
tion shall apply to the real and personal property of residents of said
territory to the same extent as they apply to the real and personal prop-
erty situate in and to the personal property of persons resident in the
limits of the City of Salisbury as they existed prior to the passage of
this Act. The rate of local taxation provided by this Act for the territory
annexed by this Act to the City of Salisbury shall, subject only to the
aforesaid exemption of farm lands, apply to all real and leasehold prop-
erty situate in said territory, to all personal property located in said
territory the situs of which, for purposes of taxation, is determined by
the place of physical location; to all personal property, including shares
of the capital stock of corporations belonging to residents in said ter-
ritory, the situs of which, for purposes of taxation, is determined by the
place of residence of the owner, and to the proportion of the personal
property of ordinary business corporations apportioned under Section
108 of Article 23, of Bagby's Annotated Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland to the capital stock of such corporations owned by residents
of said territory.
All roads, streets, avenues or alleys lying in any of the territory annexed
to the City of Salisbury by this Act which shall have been heretofore
dedicated and accepted or legally condemned as roads or streets under the
provisions of any Act of the General Assembly of Maryland or of the
common law, shall be held to be validly constituted public highways of the
City of Salisbury.
All of the inhabitants of the territory annexed to the City of Salisbury
by this Act shall in all respects and to all intents and purposes be subject
to the powers, jurisdiction and authority vested or to bo vested by law
in the Mayor and Council of Salisbury, and to all the ordinances now in
force so far as the same may be consistent with the provisions of this Act,
and the territory so annexed shall in all respects be taken and considered
as part of the City of Salisbury.

260. All property, franchises and funds of every kind belonging to or
in possession of the Mayor and Council of Salisbury are vested in this
corporation.
And the said corporation may receive in trust and may control for the
purpose of such trust all monies or other property which may have been
or shall be bestowed upon such corporation by will, deed or any other
form of gift or conveyance, in trust, for any general purpose of educa-
tion, or for charitable purposes of any description, within the said City of
Salisbury.
