allowed the same fees as are allowed constables for similar services and
said fees shall be taxed as a part of the costs of any civil or criminal case
out of which such warrants or legal process shall issue.

147. The said Commissioners may allow the said Bailiff such com-
pensation as to them may seem right and proper.

1927, ch. 268, sec. 11.

148. The Commissioners and the Bailiff of the said Town, before
entering upon the duties of their respective offices, shall make and sub-
scribe an oath before some Justice of the Peace of Wicomico County that
they will truly and faithfully to the best of their abilities, skill and judg-
ment, and without favor or affection, partiality or prejudice, perform the
duties of their offices, and such oaths shall be recorded among the minutes
of the Commissioners.

149. The said Commissioners shall determine all questions arising
from or under any election held under this Act, but any person feeling
aggrieved by their decision may appeal therefrom to the Circuit Court
for Wicomico County at any time within ten days from the date of such
decision, and the said Court is hereby vested with jurisdiction to hear and
determine such appeal and to impose the costs thereof upon such party
thereto as the said Court may deem right and proper.

150. The said Commissioners may provide by ordinance for the good
government of the Town, for the preservation of the peace and order
therein and for securing to the residents of said Town all rights of persons
and property to which they are by law entitled: to suppress all disorderly
meetings; to prohibit the use of profane language and indecent and dis-
orderly conduct in said Town; to prevent the obstruction of its sidewalks
and streets; to regulate or prevent the firing of guns, pistols or any kind
of fire arms in said Town; to prevent immoderate riding or driving
through the streets of said Town of any vehicle of any character whatso-
ever; to prevent indecent exhibits of every kind; to preserve order and
to secure persons and property from violence, danger or destruction; to
prevent the obstruction of the streets and sidewalks of the said Town by
unnecessary assemblies of persons; to protect public and private property,
sidewalks, streets and shade and ornamental trees from injury and destruc-
tion; to provide for the introduction of electricity into said Town and to
grant unto any body corporate or individual or partnership franchises
for the use of the streets of the Town for that purpose; to promote the
morality, health, convenience and safety of the inhabitants of said Town,
to provide for fire protection, police protection and for lights upon the
streets and highways of the said Town; and to borrow money on the notes
