528. The Burgess and Commissioners of Hancock are authorized to
levy taxes not exceeding fifty cents on the one hundred dollars upon the
assessable property in the town of Hancock, to pay any costs and expenses
incident to the exercise of the powers or any of them, herein granted.*

529. In the event that in the operation of the water works, or sewer-
age system, in this Act provided, there shall remain any funds in the
hands of the Burgess and Commissioners, as a profit, said Burgess and
Commissioners shall apply said funds, or such part thereof as they may
deem prudent, pro tanto to the payment of the interest and principal of
said bonds as the same may mature instead of making a levy therefor.

530. The Burgess and Commissioners of Hancock are authorized and
empowered to locate, design, adopt, construct, operate, maintain, repair,
extend, enlarge or improve the supply, purification, filtration, pumping
and disposal works, trunk lines and small distribution mains and lateral
sewers in conjunction with a system of waterworks, or waterworks now in
use by the inhabitants of the town of Hancock and the corporations, firms
and establishments doing business therein, +

531. It shall not be lawful for any persons, not permanent residents
of this State, to come into Washington county, for the purpose of carrying
on the business of huckstering, by gathering butter, eggs, poultry, etc.,
without having first obtained from the clerk of the circuit court for said
county, a license therefor.

532. For any and every license thus granted, the said clerk shall
demand and be entitled to receive as follows: for a license to employ not
more than one team of not less than three horses or mules, the sum. of
eighty dollars; for a license to employ not more than one team of not
more than two horses or mules, the sum of sixty dollars; for a license to
employ not more than one team of more than one horse or mule, the sum
of forty dollars.

533. Any person violating the provisions of section 531, upon convic-
tion thereof, shall be subject to a fine of fifty dollars, which fine shall be
