LIQUOR AND INTOXICATING DRINKS.

P. L. L., 1888, Art. 2, sec. 180. 1914 Code, sec. 283.

379. If any person, house, company, corporation or association, or
body corporate, shall sell, directly or indirectly, at any place, or give away
at his, her, their or its place of business, any spirituous or fermented
liquors or alcoholic bitters, or intoxicating drinks of any kind, within the
limits of Anne Arundel County, except in the City of Annapolis, and in
the First Precinct of the Fifth Election District of said county, he, she
or they shall, on conviction thereof, forfeit and pay on the first conviction
a fine of not less than fifty dollars nor more than three hundred dollars,
and cost of prosecution; or instead of such fine, be imprisoned in the
county jail for thirty days, or both, in the discretion of the court; and on
the second and every subsequent conviction shall pay a fine of not less,
than one hundred dollars nor more than five hundred dollars, and cost of
prosecution; and in addition to such fine, shall be imprisoned in the-
county jail for not less than thirty nor more than ninety days, in the dis-
cretion of the court; and on failure to pay the fine, as herein described,
he, she or they shall be committed to the county jail of Anne Arundel
County until such fine and the costs are paid. One-half of said fine shall
go to the informer, and the residue to the Board of County School Com-
missioners of said county, for the benefit of the public schools therein; and
in case of any violation of this section by any company, corporation or
association, each or any member of such company, corporation or asso-
ciation shall be liable, and shall suffer imprisonment as herein prescribed
for persons violating the same.

380. Hereafter it shall not be lawful for the Clerk of the Circuit Court
of Anne Arundel County to issue a license to any person or body politic
to sell spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer within the village of
"Glenburnie," in the Fifth Election District of Anne Arundel County,
or at any place in the said district within two miles from "Glenburnie
Station," on the Annapolis and Baltimore Shore Line Railroad in said
village.

381. It shall not be lawful for the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Anne
Arundel County to issue license to any person or persons, or body cor-
porate to sell spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer nearer than
one mile (1 mile) in all directions from Holly Run Methodist Protestant
Church in the Fifth Election District of Anne Arundel County, Mary-
land. Provided that nothing in this Act shall be construed to interfere
with the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer in Baltimore
County.
