and principal of the bonds issued under this Act, as they mature; and
should this be insufficient for this purpose, then the Mayor and Council
shall levy annually upon the assessable property of the town, such ad-

ditional sum as may be necessary to pay the interest on these bonds semi-
annually and one thousand ($1,000) dollars of the bonds annually, com-
mencing January 1st, in the year 1919, as aforesaid; and the funds thus
arising shall not be used for any purpose other than as stated in this
Section, or for the payment of any notes which the Mayor and Council
may issue, for the purpose of borrowing money temporarily for the use

of the Easton Electric Commission pending the sale of the bonds herein
authorized, and authority is hereby conferred upon the Mayor and Council
to issue the notes of the town of Easton for the purpose of securing such
temporary loans.

245. Nothing in this Act contained is intended or shall be taken or

construed as relieving the Mayor and Council of Easton or the Easton
Electric Commission created under the provisions of this Act from any
and all provisions of Chapter 180 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1910, known as the Public Service Commission Law, or any
amendment thereto, to the extent that the same may apply to municipal
electric light, heat and power plants.

COMMUNITY PARK.

1929, ch. 462, sec. 1.

246. The Mayor and Council of Easton is hereby authorized and

directed to acquire from the Community Club of Easton, Incorporated, a

tract of land called and known as Community Park, subject to certain
rights therein heretofore granted to the Board of Education of Talbot
County and subject further to such conditions for the improvement and
maintenance of said Park for public purposes as in this Act provided,
and also subject to such conditions for defeasance of the title to said land
as may be provided in the deed of conveyance by agreement of said The
Mayor and Council of Easton and said The Community Club hereafter

to be made.

247. Immediately after the acquisition by The Mayor and Council of
Easton of said Community Park, the said Mayor and Council of Easton

shall, and is hereby authorized and directed, to levy and collect annually
in perpetuity on the assessable property in the Town of Easton a sum of
money not less than $500 in and for each year and to be sufficient to pro-
vide for the improvement and maintenance of said Community Park,
and which said money for improvement and maintenance of said Park
shall be expended by and under the direction and management of a mu-
nicipal Park Board to be created under and by authority of another section

of this Act, and which said annual appropriation for improvement and
