4448 ARTICLE 20.

P. L. L., 1888, Art. 20, sec. 162. 1860, Art 19, sec. 78.

237. Every person who shall set or be concerned in any weir in the
waters of said county, shall remove the same within sixty days after the
expiration of twelve months from the setting of such weir.

238. No person shall cast over any oysters or oyster shells, ballast or
any other thing, upon the bottom of any harbor or anchoring ground in
said county, by which such harbor or anchoring ground may be filled up,
or by which vessels lying at anchor, or the free and easy access of vessels
to and from said harbor or anchoring ground may be in any manner
hindered or obstructed; and any person so offending, upon indictment and
conviction in the circuit court, or before any justice of the peace for the
county, shall be fined not less than ten nor more than thirty dollars; and
for the second offense not less than twenty nor more than fifty dollars,
and in default of payment, shall be imprisoned not less than three nor
more than ten days; and for the third offense shall be fined not less than
fifty nor more than two hundred dollars, and in default of payment, shall
be imprisoned not less than ten nor more than thirty days, or may be
both fined and imprisoned, in the discretion of the court or justice before
whom he may be tried.

239. The one-half of the fines imposed under the preceding section
shall go to the informer, and the other half to the school fund of said
county.

240. The governor is authorized to appoint a notary public in Princess
Anne, in Somerset county.

See Art. 68 of Annotated Code, which authorizes appointment of any number of
notaries public.

OFFICERS' FEES.

241. The fees of officers in Somerset county may be sent out for collec-
tion between the first day of January and the fifteenth day of July in
each year; and the sheriff of said county shall be allowed until the first
day of January then next ensuing to account for and pay over said fees.

242. The County Commissioners of Somerset County are hereby au-
thorized and empowered to allow and levy for the judges of the Orphans'
