dollars for each night he shall serve as such guard, to be certified by the
Sheriff, and such amount shall be levied by the County Commissioners
of Prince George's County for the use of the said guard at their regular
term for levying taxes for each year if any guard shall have been appointed
by the Sheriff and serve as aforesaid.

940. Any guard so appointed shall hold his appointment at the will
and pleasure of the sheriff.

941. No person in Prince George's county, who has been the sheriff
thereof at the term next preceding his successor, shall be eligible for ap-
pointment as deputy sheriff under the sheriff who shall next succeed him;
and if appointed, shall not be permitted to qualify as such deputy sheriff,
it being the intent of this act that no person charged with the collection
and disbursement of funds arising from judgments rendered by the Cir-
cuit Court for Prince George's County or any other Court in this State
shall be permitted by deputization to attend to and execute such business
except in the performance of duties imposed on him as former sheriff
under the provisions of law in relation to such office as specified in Article
87 of the Code of Public General Laws.

942. It shall not be necessary for sheriffs or other officers in said coun-
ty, to advertise in newspapers, sales of lands and tenements as required
by the Code of Public General Laws.

943. The State's Attorney of Prince George's County, Maryland, shall
receive for the year nineteen hundred and two and for each year thereafter,
a salary of fifteen hundred dollars to be annually levied and paid by the
county commissioners of said county.

944. No swine belonging to the inhabitants of the town of Queen Anne,
or the inhabitants of Prince George's county, living within a quarter of
a mile of said town shall be suffered to go at large in said town or within
one-quarter of a mile thereof; and any swine so found going at large may
be killed or impounded by any person; if impounded, the person impound-
ing shall immediately give notice by advertisements set up at the most
public places in said town, describing the swine so impounded and if the
owner shall not within five days after such notice prove his property and
make compensation for the injury, if any, sustained by the inhabitants
