PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY. 3945

fifty feet from any dwelling house or well, measuring from the said pen
or enclosure to the nearest point of any dwelling house or well. Anyone
convicted of a violation of this section shall be fined not less than five
dollars nor more than one hundred dollars.

DISBURSEMENTS.

1912, oh. 695, sec. 240.

652. All moneys of the Mayor and City Council of Laurel shall be
deposited in bank or such other depository as the Mayor and City Council
shall approve, to the credit of the said Mayor and City Council, and no
payments of any kind or character shall be made, except upon the order
or warrant of the Clerk to the City Council, who shall only issue the same
after an order or appropriation by the City Council and approved by the
Mayor. All such payments shall be by check, signed by the Treasurer and
countersigned by the Mayor.

TREASURER.

1912, ch. 695, sec. 241.

653. The Mayor shall on the fourth Monday in April, 1912, and every
two years thereafter, appoint one person as Treasurer of the said town,
subject to the confirmation of the City Council, who shall possess the same
qualifications as those required for Mayor, to serve for two years and until
his successor is appointed and qualified, whose duty it shall be to keep an
account of the receipts and disbursements of the town in a well-bound book,
to be provided by the Mayor and City Council, and render an account
thereof at each regular meeting of the City Council." The said Treasurer
shall qualify on or before the first Monday in May succeeding his appoint-
ment, by filing a bond with some reputable bonding company as surety in
such form and for such amount as the Mayor and City Council shall pre-
scribe and approve.

He shall receive a salary of two hundred dollars per annum.

COLLECTOR.

1912, ch. 695, sec. 242.

654. The Mayor shall on the fourth Monday of April, 1912, and every
two years thereafter, appoint one person as collector of the said town, sub-
ject to the confirmation of the City Council, -to serve for two years and
until his successor is appointed and qualified, who shall be the collector
of all taxes, including electric light and water tax or rent, and all other
money payable to the town. He shall qualify on or before the first Mon-
day in May succeeding his appointment, by filing a bond with some repu-
table bonding company as surety, in such form and for such amount as
the Mayor and City Council shall prescribe. The said Collector shall keep
a detailed account of all moneys received for the Mayor and City Council,
