LAUREL.*

598. The citizens of the town of Laurel, in Prince George's county,
are a body corporate by the name of the Mayor and City Council of
Laurel, and by that name may have perpetual succession, sue and be sued,
have and use a common seal, and may purchase and hold real estate or
dispose of the same for the benefit of the said town.

BOUNDARIES.

599. The limits of the said town shall begin on the Patuxent river,
a quarter of a mile below the railroad; thence with said river to Walker's
branch; thence southerly along Walker's branch to Talbot run or Crow's
branch; thence southeasterly with said Talbot or Crow's branch to a
point on said run or branch one-quarter of a mile beyond and across the
Washington branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad; thence northerly
in a straight line to the place of beginning.

WARDS.

1912, ch. 695, sec. 192.

600. The said town of Laurel shall be, for election purposes, divided
into three wards as follows:

Ward No. 1. The first ward shall embrace all of said town lying west-
erly of a line drawn from the southerly limits of the town at a point
where the westerly line of Church street intersects said limits, and run-
ning from thence northerly along the westerly line of Church street to
Main street, and thence in a straight line by the same course to the
Patuxent river.

Ward No. 2. The second ward shall embrace all of said town between
the above-mentioned line and a line drawn from a point in the southerly
limits of said town where the westerly line of Fourth street intersects it,
and running from thence northerly to Main street, along said westerly
line of Fourth street, thence to the westerly side of Race street, and thence
with said side of Race street to the Patuxent river.

Ward No. 3. The third ward shall embrace all the residue of the said
town lying easterly from the westerly line of Fourth street and Race
street.

*Laurel has been authorized to issue bonds as follows: 1920, ch. 139, $6,000 for
improving Main Street (validated by 1929, ch. 157); 1922, ch. 67, $10,000 for water,
sewers and streets; 1929, ch. 136, $13,000 for fire equipment; 1929, ch. 160, $10,000
for general improvements.
