shall have full power to provide by ordinance for the hearing and deter-
mination of contested elections for any and all of the aforesaid offices,
and the Mayor and Common Council or any committee appointed from
among them to hear any contested election case shall have power to
administer oaths, issue summons for witnesses and compel their attend-
ance by attachment issued to the Sheriff or any constable of said Prince
George's County and the Mayor and Com-mon Council may by ordinance
provide penalties for contempt of its authority, but prosecutions upon a
charge of contempt shall be before the Justices of the Peace having juris-
diction to hear and determine charges of violation of the ordinances of
said town. The determination by the Mayor and Common Council of the
result of any election shall be final and conclusive.

484. The limits of said town shall be as follows : Commencing at the
center of the Eastern Branch of the Potomac River, at its juncture with
the Northwest Branch, and running with the centre of said Northwest
Branch westerly to its intersection with the west line of R. P. Evans'
addition to Hyattsville extended, the same being 375 feet from Carlton's
dam, thence running northerly by said west line of said Evans' addition
north 22 degrees, 15 minutes east to a stone on the south side of the public
road leading to Washington, D. C., and known as the old Bladensburg
road; thence northerly to the western terminus of the north line of Avalon
avenue, as the same is laid down in the sub-division known as Ellaville;
thence easterly along said northern line of Avalon avenue to the center
of the Washington and Baltimore turnpike; thence with center line of
said turnpike southerly, to its intersection with the southern line of River-
dale extended; thence with said line easterly to the Washington branch
of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad; thence with the eastern boundary
of said railroad right-of-way southerly to the Alexandria junction of said
railroad; thence with the eastern boundary of the right-of-way of said
Alexandria branch road, diverging eastward sufficiently to include the
property wherein the wells and pumping houses are located, which belong
to said town corporation, to the center of the East branch of the Potomac
River; thence with the center of said Eastern Branch of the Potomac
River to the place of beginning.

485. There is hereby added to the territory of the Mayor and Common
Council of Hyattsville, all the adjacent and contiguous territory in Prince
George's County described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of
the northern line of Avalon Avenue with the center of the Washington
and Baltimore turnpike, (1) thence with center line of said turnpike
southerly, to its intersection with the southern line of Riverdale extended,
(2) thence with said line easterly to the west line of Riverdale, (3) thence
northerly along the east line of the Washington and Baltimore turnpike
to the northernmost point of Lot No. 1 in Block No. 51 of the Riverdale
