right of way of the said railway; thence along middle line of Henry
street in a Northwestern direction to a point connecting with Wells street;
thence middle line of Wells street, in a Southern direction to a point
where Dewey street connects with Wells street; thence West along a
middle line of Dewey street to a point where Dewey street connects with
Western boundary of said Town of Brentwood.

110. The officers of said town shall consist of a Mayor, four Council-
men and Treasurer, Mayor and Treasurer to be elected by the combined
vote of the said town, and four Councilmen to be elected by their respec-
tive wards, and such appointive officers as are hereinafter designated, or
shall be appointed by the Mayor and Town Council, and each officer ap-
pointed shall continue to hold office for such term as the Mayor and Town
Council shall designate, or until his successor is duly qualified. Before
entering upon the duties of his office, each officer shall take oath that he
will diligently and faithfully discharge all duties of his office without
favor, partiality or prejudice, and said oath shall be filed among the
records of said town.

111. At the first election of officers held under this Charter, the quali-
fied voters of the town shall elect a Mayor and Treasurer to serve the term
of two years and shall elect four Councilmen, one from each Ward, to be
voted for by the qualified voters of each Ward, two to serve for the term
of two years and two to serve for the term of one year. At the first meet-
ing the Mayor and Town Council shall designate the time to be served
by each Councilman. At each successive annual election the qualified
voters of each Ward in which there is a vacancy shall elect a Councilman
to serve for the term of two years. The Mayor and Treasurer must con-
tinually reside in said town, and each Councilman in his respective Ward
during their term of office, and the Mayor and Councilmen shall receive
no compensation for their services except that the Mayor shall receive
the fees hereinafter allowed; provided, however, that the Mayor and the
members of the, Council, or any of them, may be reimbursed or paid for
any expenses incurred or losses sustained by them while performing his
or their official duties on behalf of the town. The Mayor aud Town
Council, in their discretion, may fix such compensation for the Treasurer
as they may deem just and necessary.

112. The Mayor and Town Council shall meet in some convenient
place in said town, on or before the first Monday in August of each year,
and as often thereafter as may be necessary in the discharge of their duties,
provided, however, that they shall not meet less than once in every month.
The majority shall form a quorum for the transaction of business; and
upon each action taken the yea and nay vote of each Councilman and
Mayor shall be recorded opposite his name. The Mayor and Council shall
