days prior to the same. The terms of the Commissioners shall expire when
said system is installed and in working order.*

542. The Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Kensington are
hereby authorized to borrow a sum not exceeding four thousand dollars,
the amount so borrowed to be used for the payment of the installation of
extensions made to its water and sewer system, as authorized and directed
by the State Board of Health of Maryland and approved by the Governor
and the Attorney-General of Maryland on October 5, 1914, pursuant to
Section No. 9 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1914,
and to issue certificates of indebtedness therefor, bearing interest at not
more than six per cent, per annum, said certificates to be redeemable in
such manner as the Mayor and Town Council may determine at the time
of the issuance of the same, provided, however, that all of said certificates
issued by virtue of the provisions of this Act shall be redeemed and fully
paid within ten years after date of issuance thereof.

543. For the purpose of payment of said certificates and the interest
thereon, issued by virtue of the premises hereof, the said Mayor and Town
Council are hereby authorized and directed to annually assess and levy as
a tax, and collect the same, the cost of the annual redemption of said cer-
tificates, and the interest as due, upon the abutting property served by said
water and sewer mains, or either of them, in said town, and upon the as-
sessable property thereof for corporate purposes, in the same manner and
in the same proportion as set out and provided in the Water and Sewer
Enabling Act for the Town of Kensington, known as Chapter No. 829 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1914, relating to the
manner of assessment and collection of same to pay for the redemption of
the bonds, and the payment of interest thereon, as in said Chapter No. 829
of the Acts of 1914 of the General Assembly of Maryland provided (Secs.
534-541 of this Article).
1916, ch. 241, sec. 3.
544. The Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Kensington are
hereby authorized to make from time to time such extensions to said water
and sewer system within said town as in their judgment may seem fit and
proper, issue certificates of indebtedness in payment therefor, the same
bearing interest at not more than six per cent, per annum, provide for the
redemption of the same and the payment of interest, said indebtedness to
be fully paid, and the evidence thereof redeemed, within ten years from
the date of issuance of said certificates; and annually to assess, levy and
collect a tax to pay for the redemption of said certificates, and interest as
due, in the same manner as provided for and by said Chapter No. 829 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1914.
