3362 ARTICLE 16.

1922, ch. 262, sec. 4.

244. The County Commissioners shall have the power and authority
to pass such needful regulations as they may deem wise and beneficial for

the government of said institution and its inmates.

1922, ch. 262, sec. 5.

245. The County Commissioners shall have the power and authority
to appoint an overseer and matron of said county home and such other
officers and servants as to them shall appear necessary and they shall ap-
point such overseer, matron, officers or servants at such salary as said Com-

missioners shall deem adequate.

1922, ch. 262, sec. 6.

246. Every overseer shall enter into a bond, with good and sufficient
securities, in the penalty of five hundred dollars, payable to the State of
Maryland, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of his
office.

1922, ch. 262, sec. 7.

247. The Commissioners may remove such overseer and all other
officers appointed by them with or without cause or notice.

1922, ch. 262, sec. 8.

248. Whenever a vacancy shall exist in the office of overseer of the
poor, either by the expiration of the time for which he was appointed or
by removal, the overseer whose office shall so become vacant shall, upon
the order of said Commissioners deliver up to the Commissioners the pos-
session and custody of the county home and all property and effect of

every description thereto belonging; and upon his neglect or refusal to do

so, it shall be the duty of the sheriff of the county, upon the request of

said Commissioners to remove him therefrom.

1922, ch. 262, sec. 9.

249. The clerk of the Trustees of the Poor, shall on the first Monday
in July in the year 1922 deliver up to the clerk to the County Commis-
sioners all books, papers, moneys or other property in his custody as said

clerk, and the said clerk to the County Commissioners shall have charge
of all records, accounts, books, papers and other property in relation to
any and all matters appertaining to said institution.

1922, ch. 262, sec. 10.

250. The Commissioners shall purchase and buy for the use and em-
ployment of the poor of said county and the vagrants, beggars, vagabonds
and offenders who may be committed to said county home, sufficient beds,
bedding, working tools, kitchen utensils, cows, horses and other necessaries;
and they shall keep an account of all moneys expended by them.
