MONTGOMERY COUNTY. 3361

Act for the purpose of building or constructing any permanent improve-
ment for the County purposes, provided that such improvement shall have
been determined by resolution of a majority of the County Commissioners
to be necessary for the protection of the health, morals, safety and welfare
of the County.

1929, ch. 297, sec. 1.

239. The County Commissioners of Montgomery County are hereby
authorized and empowered for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1929, and
annually thereafter, to levy against the assessable property of the county a
tax sufficient to produce annually the sum of not to exceed ten thousand
dollars ($10,000.00), for the purpose of extending relief to poor, indi-
gent or ill persons, of caring for and assisting in the care of neglected or
improperly nourished children and for general charitable and social relief
purposes.

240. The County Commissioners are further authorized and empow-
ered, in any year in which the levy herein authorized shall be made, to
designate such agent or agents as they may deem proper, to carry out
the purposes for which said levy is authorized, and are further authorized
and empowered to pay over to such designated agent or agents the sum
or sums derived from said levy.

241. The Trustees of the Poor in Montgomery County, a body corpo-
rate, heretofore created, is hereby dissolved and said corporation shall
cease to function and exist after the 30th day of June, A. D. 1922, and
said Trustees of the Poor in Montgomery County shall on or before the
date hereinbefore set forth by a proper conveyance convey and turn over
to the County Commissioners of Montgomery County all of its right, title
and interest in and to any and all lands or other property real or personal
held by it.

242. The County Commissioners shall on the first Wednesday in July
in the year 1922 take over and assume complete control, supervision, juris-
diction and maintenance of the county home and the inmates, and shall
thereafter continue to control, manage and maintain said institution.

243. The said County Commissioners shall meet at the county home
at least once a month for the purpose of transacting such necessary busi-
ness in relation to same as may come to their attention, view and inspec-
tion.
