1892, ch. 455, sec. 2. 1912, oh. 790, sec. 159.

227. The county commissioners of said county are hereby authorized
to issue the bonds of the county to the amount of the stock so subscribed
and to negotiate said bonds upon the most favorable terms; provided they
shall not be sold for less than par; and the said county commissioners are
authorized to levy upon the assessable property of the county an amount
sufficient to pay the annual interest upon said bonds and the principal at
maturity.

228. The Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery County are
hereby authorized to provide anti-toxine for the use of indigent persons
suffering with diphtheria; provided, that such anti-toxine shall be fur-
nished only upon the affidavit of the attending physician that such diph-
theric person or persons is unable to procure the necessary treatment.

229. Whenever any resident of Montgomery County, who is a pauper,
shall die, the expense of his burial shall be paid by the county commis-
sioners of said county, who shall levy in the usual manner and pay such
sum as in their discretion shall be a reasonable and fair charge for the
services rendered.

230. Every undertaker or other person presenting a bill for the burial
of such pauper shall, in addition to the affidavit now required by law or
usage to be appended to said bill, file with the county commissioners an
affidavit made by some taxpayer, who shall state under oath that he knew
the deceased in his life time and knows or verily believes that the de-
ceased was, at the time of his death, without means to defray the expenses
of his funeral, and that the deceased owned or was entitled to no property
which could properly be charged with the payment of the costs of his
burial.

CONSTABLES.

231. The County Commissioners of Montgomery County are hereby
authorized and empowered to appoint one additional constable each for
the 4th, 7th and 13th election districts in said county.

232. Said constable to be appointed under the preceding section shall
daily patrol the county roads under the guidance, supervision and direction
of said county commissioners; said constable shall be mounted upon bicycle
or motor cycle, as said commissioners shall direct, and the special duty of
the constable appointed under the provisions of this Act are to police the
public thoroughfares that may be assigned them from time to time by the
commissioners and at such time and places.
