the provisions of the Act of 1892, Chapter 418, and of the Act of 1900,
Chapter 102, are hereby continued in force until such accounts are settled
and closed as aforesaid.

224. Alter the expiration of two years from the date of any sale of
real estate heretofore or hereafter to be made by any of the tax collectors
of Montgomery County, or by any trustee appointed by the Circuit Court
for Montgomery County to complete the collection of any such collector,
the treasurer, provided such sale has been duly ratified by said court, and
the lands so sold has not been redeemed under the provisions of the existing
laws, shall at the request and cost of the purchaser, his heirs or assigns,
convey the lands so sold by a good and sufficient deed to him or them.

225. It shall be the duty of the county commissioners to publish, in
their annual exhibit of receipts and expenditures, the amount of monies
received from the sheriff of said county as costs collected by him in crim-
inal cases; also the amount of monies remaining in the hands of said
commissioners as unexpended balances due pensioners who have died dur-
ing the year, for which such pensioners were allowed; also the amount of
moneys repaid from other counties for monies expended in the trial of
cases removed from such counties for trial in the Circuit Court for Mont-
gomery County; also the amount of monies remaining in the hands of the
commissioners over and above what has been actually required to pay the
existing creditors of the county.

TURNPIKE COMPANIES.

226. Whenever two-fifths of the capital stock of any turnpike company
in Montgomery County, chartered and organized from and after the
passage of this Act shall have been subscribed for and taken by responsible
bona fide stockholders, the county commissioners of said county are here-
by authorized and empowered to subscribe for such portion of the remain-
ing three-fifths of the capital stock as they, in their discretion, may deem
proper in the name and for the benefit of said county, and shall be en-
titled to be represented at all meetings of the stockholders of said com-
pany by the county commissioners for the time being, or by such person or
persons as may be duly authorized by them provided said roads or roads
so subscribed to shall be graded for a width of twenty feet, fourteen of
which shall be covered with stone of an average depth of nine inches;
provided also, that in accordance with the provisions of Article three, sec-
tion fifty-four, of the Constitution, secs. 226 and 227 of this Article shall
be published in the newspapers printed in said county for two months
before the next election for members of the House of Delegates, and shall
also be approved by a majority of all the members elected to each House
of the General Assembly of Maryland at its next session after said election.
