3314 ARTICLE 16.

CHEVY CHASE—SECTION 4.

1918, ch. 177, sec. 1. 1924, ch. 317, sec. 1.

110. For the purposes of this Act Section 4 of the Village of Chevy
Chase of Montgomery County, Maryland, as hereinafter described shall
constitute a special tax area or District and shall be deemed and taken to
comprise certain parcels of land, namely:

Boundaries.

So much of the area in the sub-division of land in said Montgomery
County made by Chevy Chase Land Company of Montgomery County and
known as "Section 4," so much of the area in the sub-division of land in
said county made by George E. Fleming and known as "Chevy Chase,
Section 4," so much of the area in the sub-division of land in said county
made by the Chevy Chase Land Company of Montgomery County and
known as the "Addition to Section 4," and so much of the area of the sub-
division in said county known as "Chevy Chase Park," and such territory
adjacent thereto, as is included in the following boundaries: The middle
line of Bradley Lane on the south, the middle line of Connecticut Avenue
on the east, the middle line of Cypress Street and the North Boundary of
Chevy Chase Park on the north and the west boundaries of Chevy Chase
Park, Addition to Section 4, as made by George E. Fleming and Chevy
Chase, Section 4, as made by the Chevy Chase Land Company on the
west, as said sub-divisions, streets and boundaries are shown on the plats
of the several sub-divisions herein named, recorded among the Land Rec-
ords of said county. The area so bounded shall be known for the purposes
of this Act as "Chevy Chase, Section 4, Montgomery County, Maryland."

111. The Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery County are
authorized, empowered and directed to levy and cause to be collected from
the property owners at the time of the County Tax Levy for the year 1924
or any succeeding year within said described area in Chevy Chase, Section
4, as named or created in this Act, such amounts not exceeding fifty (50)
cents on each one hundred (100) dollars' worth of assessable property in
said Section 4, Chevy Chase, Montgomery County, Maryland, as assessed
for State and County purposes in the tax year in which the special levy is
made, as may be requested by a majority vote of the resident registered
qualified voters who are assessed as owners of any interest, joint or several,
in real property in such area, present at a meeting called for such purpose
by the Citizens' Committee provided for in Section 112 of this subtitle, no-
tice of which meeting shall have been mailed at least two weeks in advance
of the meeting to all such resident registered voters and property owners.
Such taxes shall be collected in the manner provided by law for the
collection of county taxes in said county and. shall be paid over by the
Board of County Commissioners to the Treasurer of said Section 4, Chevy
Chase, to be selected from among their number by a majority of the
