MONTGOMERY COUNTY. 3307

Treasurer of said Village of Chevy Chase shall not dispose of any of the
funds coming into his hands as such Treasurer, and countersigned by the
Chairman or some member of the said Committee acting as Chairman pro
tem in his absence. Such acting Chairman shall be duly authorized to
act by resolution of said Committee, which must be first placed upon the
minutes of the Committee to be provided therefor.

95. The Chevy Chase Citizens' Committee shall have power to enter
into a contract in writing with the Chevy Chase Club, a corporation organ-
ized under the laws of the District of Columbia, or ratify or confirm and
assume the obligations under an existing contract entered into in com-
pliance with the provisions of Chapter 383 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1910, authorizing special levies for the Village
of Chevy Chase for the payment by said Club of the sum of $1,000
annually for a period of ten years from the year 1912, and for the pay-
ment of $2,000 annually by said Club for the additional period of fifteen
years, the said sums to be used and expended by said Chevy Chase Citi-
zens' Committee for the aforesaid purposes in the said Village of Chevy
Chase, in consideration of the use and enjoyment of the streets and road-
ways of said village of Chevy Chase.

96. Chapter 383 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1910, authorizing special levies for the village of Chevy Chase, is hereby
repealed, in so far as the same may apply to that part of the Village of
Chevy Chase described herein.

1916, ch. 697.

97. Whenever said Chevy Chase Association shall determine to sell
and relinquish whatever right, title and equity it may have in and to said
property, to said Chevy Chase Citizens' Committee, authority is given to
said Chevy Chase Citizens' Committee to purchase the same, and take title
thereto and manage said property for the common benefit of the citizens
of the taxing area described in the Act approved April 16, 1914, and to
assume and pay, as the full consideration price therefor, in installments
or otherwise, as they may agree, whatever mortgage encumbrance may then
remain thereon unpaid. And authority is also hereby given to said Chevy
Chase Citizens' Committee to purchase for such price as may be agreed
upon between the owner of said property and said committee, the balance
of the real estate in said Block 37 aforesaid.

And for the money with which to make payments therefor, the Board
of Commissioners of Montgomery County be and they are hereby author-
ized and directed to levy, in addition to the tax provided for in said Act,
a tax or taxes on the taxable property within said special taxing area, as
may be recommended by said Chevy Chase Citizens' Committee, not ex-
