3294 ARTICLE 16.
That the clerk to the County Commissioners shall be entitled to charge
and receive the sum of two dollars for each permit so issued and the
money received by said clerk for the issuing of said building permit shall
monthly be paid over to the County Treasurer and by the County Treas-
urer be. applied and credited to the Police Fund of said county. That
the permit so issued shall set forth the location of the land upon which the
said building is to be located, together with a description of the character
of the proposed building and the approximate cost of same and said
permit shall be issued in triplicate, one to the applicant and one for the
County Assessor and one to be retained in the files of the office of the
County Commissioners. That it is the purpose and intention of this Act
to require all persons who contemplate building, altering, constructing,
re-constructing, remodeling, any and all buildings of any nature, kind
and description before so doing to obtain a permit from the clerk to the
County Commissioners and if any person shall proceed in the building,
erecting, constructing, reconstructing or remodeling any building where
the cost of same shall be in excess of the sum of three hundred dollars
without first having made application and obtained a permit therefor,
such person or persons upon conviction thereof shall be fined a sum not
more than twenty-five dollars and shall stand committed to the Montgomery
County Jail until said fine and cost be paid not to exceed an imprison-
ment of ten days.
CHEVY CHASE.

73. For the purposes of this act, the village of Chevy Chase shall be
deemed and taken to comprise four certain parcels of land, namely:
(1) The sub-division of land in said Montgomery county made by the
Chevy Chase Land Company of Montgomery county, and known as section
2, as per plat recorded in Plat Book No. 2, page 106, of the Land Records
of said Montgomery county, excluding therefrom the land of the Chevy
Chase Club.
(2) The sub-division of land in said Montgomery county made by
the said Chevy Chase Land Company of Montgomery county, and known
as section 3, as per plat recorded among the Land Records of said Mont-
gomery county.
(3) The sub-division of land in said Montgomery county made by the
Chew Chase Land Company of Montgomery county, and known as section
4, as per plat recorded among the Land Records of said Montgomery
county, excluding so much thereof as lies north and west of a line begin-
ning at the southwest corner of the intersection of Thornapple street and
Connecticut avenue; thence west to the middle of Meadow lane; thence
with the middle of said lane to valley place, and with the middle of valley
place to the south side of Rosemary street, and thence with the same to
the west line of section 4.
