20. The commissioners shall meet in some convenient place in said
town on or before the first Monday in June following their election and
as often thereafter as may be necessary to the discharge of their duties.

21. Said commissioners annually, on or before the first Monday in
April in each year, shall appoint three judges of election, who shall con-
duct the elections according to the election laws of the State, except that
the hours of election shall be from 5 o'clock to 8 o'clock P. M.; except
further, that one of said judges may act as clerk of said election; and
except further, that ballots used may be as such as were used at elections
prior to the adoption of the "Australian System." The said judges of elec-
tion shall certify to the commissioners the result of said election and de-
clare the three condidates receiving the greatest number of votes duly
elected, and said judges shall receive such compensation for their services
as the commissioners may determine.

22. Said commissioners shall annually appoint a clerk, who may also
be treasurer, and who shall keep the minutes of their proceedings in a well-
bound book, which shall be open at any time to the inspection of any one
interested. If said commissioners appoint the clerk treasurer, the said
clerk shall give a bond in such sum as the commissioners shall deem
proper, and shall pay out the money that shall come into his hands only
on the order of the commissioners, which order shall plainly appear in
the minutes.

23. The commissioners shall annually appoint a bailiff and such under
bailiffs as may be necessary.

24. The commissioners shall allow their clerk and bailiff such compen-
sation as they shall think proper.

25. The commissioners and all other officers of the corporation, includ-
ing judges of election, shall, before entering upon the duties of their re-
spective offices, make oath that they will diligently and faithfully to the
best of their abilities, skill and judgment, perform their duties of office,
and shall file a certificate of the same among the records of the corpora-
tion.

26. The bailiff and clerk shall give bond in such sum as may be
deemed proper by the commissioners for the faithful performance of their
respective duties.
