by any person for the taking of or injury to any building or structure
built or erected within the period fixed in the resolution of the Board
of Aldermen upon any such reserved location. No compensation or dam-
ages for any such reservation shall be paid or recovered except as pro-
vided in Sections 456, 457 and 458 of this Article.

460. The Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick is hereby authorized
and empowered to pass all ordinances, resolutions and motions, which
it may deem necessary or proper to put into effect and carry out the pro-
visions of this Act.

JEFFERSON.

461. The citizens of Jefferson, in Frederick county, are a body cor-
porate, by the name of "The Commissioners of Jefferson," and by that
name may sue and be sued, and may have and use a common seal.

462. The limits of Jefferson shall extend one-half mile each way from
the tavern formerly occupied by Daniel Shower, but the taxable limits
of said town shall only extend a quarter of a mile each way from said
tavern.

463. The male citizens of Jefferson, of the age of twenty-one years and
upward, who have resided in the town six months next preceding the
election, shall elect by ballot, on the iirst Monday in May, in each year,
at the town hall in the town, five persons qualified in all respects as the
said voters, commissioners of the town.

464. The election polls shall be kept open from twelve o'clock, M.,
until four o'clock, P. M., and the elections shall be held and conducted in
other respects as shall from time to time be directed by the by-laws of
the corporation, not inconsistent with this subtitle of this Article.

465. If any of the commissioners shall, during the year for which they
were elected, die, resign, remove from the town or be otherwise disquali-
fied, an election to fill the vacancy shall be held; and all persons qualified
