2452 ARTICLE 11.

1920, ch. 138, sec. 152K.

139. Any wilful disregard, breach, evasion, violation or failure to dis-
charge any of the duties herein imposed upon any member of the Board
of County Commissioners, or Board of Estimates, or on the part of the
members or member of any other board, or by or upon the part of any
official, shall be a misdemeanor, and upon indictment for and conviction
of such offense in the Circuit Court for Frederick County, he shall be
fined not more than one thousand dollars or imprisoned in the county
jail for not more than one year, or be both fined and imprisoned, in the
discretion of the court.*

BUILDING PERMITS.

1922, ch. 23.

140. All persons and corporations, before erecting, or repairing any
building in Frederick County at an espense of two hundred and fifty
dollars or more, shall be required to give dimensions and estimated cost
and secure a permit in writing from the County Commissioners of Fred-
erick County before starting said work. All permits to be issued free of
cost. Any person or corporation failing to comply with this section shall,
upon conviction, be fined not less than ten dollars nor more than one hun-
dred dollars and costs for each offense.

CRIER.

P. L. L., 1888, Art. 11, sec. 96. 1918 Code, sec. 153.

141. The crier of the Circuit Court for Frederick County shall be
entitled to receive, as a salary, four hundred and eighty dollars per an-
num, in sums of forty dollars per month, which shall be in lieu of all
allowances heretofore authorized by law; and the County Commissioners
are authorized and directed to levy annually for the use of the crier of said
court, on the assessable property of said county, such sums of money as
they shall deem sufficient to pay the above salary of said crier of said
court, and upon presentation to them of the certificate of the clerk of said
court, certifying the attendance of said crier, he shall be entitled to receive
his salary monthly in cash, and the said County Commissioners are
directed, upon presentation thereof, to pay the same.

142. In case the person appointed as crier of said circuit court should
be designated as librarian of the public law library of said court, he shall
receive, as librarian, the sum of ten dollars per month, to be paid in like
manner as provided in the preceding section.

*Sec. 2, ch. 138, 1920, repealed all laws inconsistent therewith.
