chester County, in the penalty of five hundred dollars; said bond to be
conditioned that each of said justices will truly and faithfully discharge,
execute and perform all and singular the duties and obligations of jus-
tices of the peace, and that he will account for and pay over to the County
Commissioners of Dorchester County, or to whomsoever else may be
hereafter or otherwise designated by law, as the proper recipient thereof,
all fines, penalties and forfeitures, or the portion thereof which he is
bound to account for and pay over as, aforesaid; and that he will faith-
fully and truly account for and pay over to the person or corporation
entitled to receive the same all money belonging to such person or cor-
poration which may come into his hands as justice of the peace; pro-
vided, however, that nothing in the preceding Section 354 and 355 shall
be construed to apply to any justice of the peace who may be or shall
hereafter be designated as a police justice in any of the districts of Dor-
chester County.
POLICE JUSTICE.
1912, ch. 698, sec. 1.
356. The Governor of the State is, hereby authorized and directed to
designate one of the justices of the peace appointed in and for the Seventh
Election District of Dorchester County as a police justice, and who shall
be a resident of said Seventh Election District, and who before he shall
act as such shall give bond to the State of Maryland in the penalty of
$1,000, with surety or sureties to be approved by the County Commis-
sioners, conditioned that he will well and faithfully perform and execute
the duties and obligations of justice of the peace, and that he will account
for and pay over to the County Commissioners all fines, penalties, for-
feitures and costs imposed by him and which he shall receive for or on
account of criminal offense tried before him under the provisions of the
Public General Laws, Public Local Laws and the ordinances of the Town
of Cambridge, which bond shall be recorded in the office of the Clerk of
the Circuit Court, and shall be liable at the suit of the State for the use
of the County Commissioners of Dorchester County in case of default in
any of its provisions.

357. The said police justice shall have an office in the town of Cam-
bridge in said district, and he shall attend at his office every day of the
week except Sunday at least from 9 o'clock to 11 o'clock A. M. and from
2 o'clock to 5 o'clock P. M., and such other times as the business of his
office may require.

358. Said police justice shall have the same jurisdiction in criminal
cases as justices of the peace now possess and which may hereafter be
conferred upon them by and under the laws of the State; but shall have
no civil jurisdiction; but shall have the jurisdiction of and perform the
