DORCHESTER COUNTY. 2253

203. Before any deed for conveyance of real estate in Dorchester
County, shall be received for record by the Clerk of the Circuit Court
for Dorchester County, the person offering said deed for record shall sub-
mit the same to the clerk of the County Commissioners of said county,
and if the property conveyed in the said conveyance shall be situated
within the corporate limits of the City of Cambridge, in said county,
then, in addition to submitting it to the clerk to the County Commission-
ers, such deed or conveyance shall also be submitted to the clerk to the
County Commissioners of Cambridge, who shall thereupon make a trans-
fer on the county assessment books, and if the said property is in the City
of Cambridge, also a transfer upon the assessment books of the said city
of the said property, to the name of the new owner or owners thereof,
and as evidence of said transfer, the Clerk to the Commissioners of Dor-
chester County, and in case the property is in the City of Cambridge,
also the Clerk to the Commissioners of Cambridge, shall stamp upon said
deed his certificate thereof, and no deed shall be received for record with-
out said certificate or certificates. At the time of submitting the deed
to the Clerk to the County Commissioners, or if the land be in the City
of Cambridge, to the Clerk to the Commissioners of Cambridge, the per-
son or persons offering the same shall furnish said clerk or clerks, with
a statement of the buildings, if any, upon the land conveyed by said deed.
All Acts or parts of Acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.

204. They are authorized to contract with and designate two or more
newspapers printed at Cambridge, in said county, to publish the public
local laws applying to Dorchester County; provided, that the total cost
of publishing said public local laws for any one session shall not exceed
one hundred dollars.

205. They are authorized and empowered, provided a majority of
them deem it wise and proper, to build a bridge over Transquakin River
at Bestpitch Ferry Landing, with a suitable draw, for the passage of
boats navigating the waters of said river in said county.

206. If a majority of said County Commissioners should decide to
build or construct said bridge, they are authorized and directed to adver-
tise at least four times in two of the newspapers of said county for sealed
proposals to build or construct said bridge, and shall give the contract to
the lowest responsible bidder, who shall be required to give bond and secu-
rity, to be approved by them.

207. That the Board of County Commissioners of Dorchester County
may, and they are hereby empowered to levy, appropriate, and use in their
