39. The inhabitants of the town of Cambridge, in Dorchester County,
are now and shall hereafter be, as they have heretofore been, a body cor-
porate under the name and title of "The Commissioners of Cambridge,"
with all rights, franchises, powers, privileges and prerogatives, which, at
the date of this enactment, they do, as a body corporate, have, hold and
possess, and as well all the rights, franchises, powers, privileges and pre-
rogatives which are given under this enactment, and that may hereafter
be given, acquired or received thereby under the authority of law. The
said Commissioners, as such, shall have perpetual succession, and by said
name may sue and be sued. They may purchase and they may otherwise
acquire for corporate purposes, and they may hold and possess property,
real, personal and mixed, and they may sell, dispose of and convey said
property for the benefit of said town, and they may use a corporate seal,
and may alter the same at pleasure.

40. The corporate limits of the town of Cambridge shall include the
land and territory contained and embraced within the following metes
and bounds, courses and distances, to wit:
Beginning for the western limit at a large cement bounder, marked on
the top thereof "C 1927 No. 1," set down on the southern shore of the
Great Choptank River and on the westward side of what is called the
Great Marsh, to the northwestward of the Town of Cambridge, the said
tract of land called the Great Marsh being owned by Robert E. Tubman,
from thence (1) South 41 degrees 45 minutes west 3,612 feet to another
cement bounder, marked on the top thereof "C 1927 No. 2," set down on
the southwestward side of Glasgow Street; thence (2) South 31 degrees
50 minutes west 4,296 feet to another cement bounder marked 011 the top
thereof "C 1927 No. 3," set down on the southwest side of the State
road leading from Cambridge to Lloyds; thence (3) south 45 degrees 50
minutes east 5,504 feet to another cement bounder marked on the top
thereof "C 1927 No. 4," set down on the east side of the state road lead-
ing from Cambridge to Church Creek; (4) North 83 degrees 10 minutes
east 4,136 feet to another cement bounder marked on the top thereof "C
1927 No. 5," set down on the south side of the Cambridge and Seaford
*Cambridge has been authorized to issue bonds and to levy taxes to pay the
interest on and to redeem said bonds, as follows: 1922, ch. 81, $20,000 for perma-
nent improvements; 1924, ch. 170, $60.000 for municipal building; 1927, ch. 37,
$50,000 for municipal improvements; 1929, ch. 197, $75,000 for municipal improve-
ments.
