Up Thrice"; thence leaving the lines thereof, (4) north 72 degrees, west
1,093 feet to a point on the boundary line between Allegany and Gar-
rett Counties; thence with said boundary line, (5) south 30 degrees, 10
minutes west 300 feet, (6) south 15 degrees, west 121.5 feet, to the boun-
dary line between the State of Maryland and West Virginia, being the
West Virginia shore of the Potomac River; thence with the said boundary
line and down and with the West Virginia shore of the Potomac River;
thence with the said boundary line and down with the West Virginia
shore of the Potomac River to intersect a line drawn south 57 degrees,
52 minutes east from the place of beginning; thence reversing said inter-
secting line north 57 degrees, 52 minutes west 482 feet to the place of
beginning.
All bearings refer to the Magnetic Meridian of 1919 and distances are
measured horizontally.

431. The citizens of the town of Luke aforesaid of the age of twenty-
one years and upwards who, being citizens of the United States, have
resided in said town for and during a period of one year next preceding
any municipal election, shall be qualified to vote at such election in said
town; and the qualified voters are hereby authorized on the first Monday
of October, in the year nineteen hundred and twenty-two, and each two
years thereafter, at the usual place as shall be designated by the Mayor
and Commissioners of Luke, to elect one person who shall have resided
within the limits thereof at least two years next preceding said election
and be a qualified voter therein as Mayor of the town of Luke, and the
said Mayor shall serve for two years and until his successor is elected and
qualified. He shall preside at all meetings of the Mayor and Commis-
sioners of Luke and shall execute all ordinances passed by them. In the
absence of the Mayor at any meeting of the Mayor and Commissioners,
the Commissioners may appoint a President pro tem., who shall have all
the powers of the Mayor, during his absence, except to sign ordinances.
And the qualified voters are at the same time and place authorized and
directed to elect four Commissioners for said town, who shall have the
same qualifications as provided in the case of the Mayor. They shall
serve for a term of two years and until their successors are elected and
qualified.
The Mayor and Commissioners at their first meeting after their elec-
tion, or as soon thereafter as possible, shall elect one person to serve as
clerk of said town and another person to serve as bailiff of said town, and
each of these shall hold his office subject to the will of the Mayor and
Commissioners. And the said The Mayor and Commissioners shall have
power to fill by appointment all vacancies occurring from death, removal,
resignation or any other cause, in the office of Mayor, Commissioners or
any other office provided for in this Act.
