124 ARTICLE 1.

issued by either of said Justices. Said Constables so selected shall each
receive the fees now and hereafter provided by law for the performance
of their duties, and in the event either of such constables, in the opinion
of said Justices, shall fail to properly perform his duties under this Act,
said Justice shall have the power to select from among the said constables
at large other constables to perform said duties.

Levy.

1927, ch. 297, sec. 179W.

347. The County Commissioners for Allegany County are hereby di-
rected, authorized and empowered to make provision by appropriation in
their annual levy during the term for which said Justices of the Peace are
appointed from year to year sufficient funds to pay the salaries of said
Justices, Clerk or Clerks, Bailiff and Constables at Large; and to provide
each Justice with suitable dockets, indexes, forms, supplies, and all other
equipment, suitable safe, cabinets and filing system for the preservation
and filing of books and papers; and all other necessaries for the conduct
and functioning of said Court; they shall provide suitable quarters con-
veniently located in the City of Cumberland, Maryland, for the transac-
tion of the business of the Court, providing two Court rooms, a Clerk's
office, and a waiting room; said quarters shall be furnished in keeping
with Court Rooms generally, and said Justices shall be the custodians of
said quarters.

348. The Mayor and City Council of Cumberland, Md., are hereby
directed, authorized and empowered to provide for in each annual levy
the portion of the salary hereinbefore provided to be paid said Justices
by said City.

Disability, Etc.

1927, ch. 297, sec. 179Y.

349. In case of the absence, illness, disability or disqualification of
either of the People's Court Justices the other Justice shall perform his
duties. In case of the absence, illness, disability, or disqualification of
the Magistrate for Juvenile Cases, for Allegany County, it shall be the
duty of the People's Court Justice who is then sitting as City Police Mag-
istrate for the City of Cumberland to perform the duties of the said Magis-
trate for Juvenile cases pending the latter's absence, illness, disability or
disqualification; and in case of the absence, illness, disability or dis-
qualification of said People's Court Justice, then sitting as City Magis-
trate, it shall be the duty of the other People's Court Justice to perform

the duties of the said Magistrate for Juvenile Cases.
