and Fifty Cents ($27.50) per week, as now provided by law; and Thirty-
seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($37.50) per week during the second year
of his service, instead of Thirty Dollars ($30.00) per week, as now pro-
vided by law; and Forty Dollars ($40.00) per week thereafter, instead of
Thirty-two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($32.50) per week, as now provided
by law; each station-house clerk and each other clerk not otherwise pro-
vided for in this section shall receive Thirty-five Dollars ($35.00) per
week, during the first year of service; Thirty-seven Dollars and Fifty
Cents ($37.50) per week dining the second year, and Forty Dollars.
($40.00) per week thereafter instead of the sum of Thirty-two Dollars
and Fifty Cents ($32.50) per week, which is now provided by law, irre-
spective of length of service; each signal and telephone operator shall
receive Thirty-five Dollars ($35.00) per week during the first year of
service instead of Twenty-seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($27.50) per
week as now provided by law; Thirty-seven Dollars and Fifty Cents
($37.50) per week during the second year of service, instead of Thirty
Dollars ($30.00) per week, as now provided by law; and Forty Dollars
($40.00) per week thereafter, instead of Thirty-two Dollars and Fifty
Cents ($32:50) per week, aa now provided by law; each policewoman and
each chauffeur shall receive Thirty-five Dollars ($35.00) per week during
the first year of service, instead of Twenty-seven Dollars and Fifty Cents-
($27.50) per week, as now provided by law; Thirty-seven Dollars and
Fifty Cents ($37.50) per week during the second year of service, instead
of Thirty Dollars ($30.00) per week, as now provided by law; and Forty
Dollars ($40.00) per week thereafter, instead of Thirty-two Dollars and
Fifty Cents ($32.50) per week, as now provided by law; each matron
shall receive Thirty-two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($32.50) per week,
instead of Twenty-seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($27.50) per week, as
now provided by law; each substitute matron shall be paid at the rate of
Thirty-two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($32.50) per week, instead of receiv-
ing pay only during the time of actual service rendered by them, as now
provided by law, and shall hold the same rank and be subject to the same
rights and duties in regard to the Pension Fund as are now or may here-
after be given or imposed by law relating to matrons; each charwoman
shall receive Twenty-two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($22.50) per week,
instead of Seventeen Dollars and Fifty Cents ($17.50) per week, as now
provided by law. The aforesaid salaries shall be payable in the manner
now prescribed by law for the payment of those holding the same grade,
rank or position in the said Police Department,—provided, however, that
each member of the Police Department of Baltimore City, shall be en-
titled to additional compensation as follows : After serving five (5) years,
to the amount of two and one-half (2 1/2) per cent, of the salary of his
grade or position; after serving ten (10) years, five (5) per cent, of the
salary of his grade or position; after serving fifteen (15) years, seven
and one-half (7 1/2) per cent, of the salary of his grade or position; after
serving twenty (20) years, ten (10) per cent, of the salary of his grade
or position; after serving twenty-five (25) years, twelve and one-half
