3066 ARTICLE 99.

ling dogs in said trials is required to have a Hunter's License and to
display the tag as provided by law.

Any person or persons owning bird or rabbit dog or dogs, who desire
to train said dog or dogs during any closed hunting season for the purpose
of entering said dog or dogs in any Field Trial must secure a permit by
applying to the State Game Warden to train said dog or dogs during any
closed hunting season.

57. Dogs brought into this State to particpate in such Field Trials
and which are to be removed from the State within fifteen days after said
Field Trials are held, shall be exempted from the payment of state, city
or county license tax.

58. Any person, club, or association violating any of the provisions
of this sub-title, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon con-
viction before any Justice of the Peace of this State, shall be fined not
less than twenty-five dollars, nor more than one hundred dollars for each
and every offense, or be confined in the Baltimore City Jail or the jail
in the county in which said violation occurred for a period of not less
than thirty days.

59. The Conservation Commissioner of Maryland on the first Monday
in June, 1918, and every two years thereafter shall appoint, with the ap-
proval of the Governor of this State, a Game Warden for the State, whose
term of office shall be for two years or until his successor be appointed.
The said Game Warden shall receive a salary from the State for his ser-
vices of twenty-five hundred dollars per annum, and shall be entitled to
traveling expenses and all other expenses incurred in the discharge of his
duties. The said Game Warden may be removed by the Conservation
Commissioner of this State at any time upon proof satisfactory to them that
said Game Warden is not vigorously enforcing the Game or Fish Laws
of this State, or is not a fit person for said position. The word " Game "
shall be taken to embrace, Deer, Rabbit, Squirrel, Water-fowl (including
Brant, wild ducks, geese and swan), Rail, Coot, Gallinule, Woodcock,
Snipe, Yellow-legs, Plover, Quail (partridge) Ruffed Grouse (pheasant),
Wild turkey, English, Mongolian and Dark-necked Bohemian Pheasants,
Dove, Reed-bird (rice-bird or bobolink) or Black Bird, or Muskrat, Otter
or Mink, or any other birds or animals that are protected by a closed season.
As to the duties of game wardens relative to terrapins, see art. 92, sec. 7.

60. It shall be the duty of the said game warden and his deputy game
