term of two years from the date of their appointment. They shall
meet in the city of Baltimore within thirty days after the date of
their appointment and thereafter as frequently as may be necessary;
they shall fill by a majority vote any vacancy that may occur in their
membership, and shall report the results of their investigations not later
than January, 1906.

197. All hospitals, dispensaries and other institutions having medi-
cal officers and supported in whole or in part by public funds in the
State of Maryland, or of any city or county in the State, shall cause
to be made upon blanks furnished by the tuberculosis commission record
of such facts as may be available for the use and purposes of said com-
mission concerning every case of tuberculosis coming under the care of
such institution, and shall return such records at such times and in
such manner as shall be direected by the tuberculosis commission.

198. For the purpose of defraying necessary expenses, including
printing, rent, postage and clerical assistance, the sum of two thousand
dollars or so much thereof as may be necessary is hereby appropriated,
to be paid by the treasurer of the State upon the warrant of the comp-
troller at such times and in such sums as may be authorized by the com-
mission.

199. There shall be established in this State, accessible by railroad
or water transportation, an institution to be called the Maryland Tuber-
culosis Sanatorium, which shall be under the control of the board of
managers hereinafter provided for. The said board of managers shall
consist of the governor, state treasurer and comptroller of the treasury,
for the time being, ex officio, and six other persons who shall be
appointed by the governor, as follows: Two to serve for the term of
six years, two to serve for the term of four years and two to serve for
the term of two years, respectively, from the first day of May, nine-
teen hundred and six. The board so created shall constitute a body
corporate under the title of the Maryland Tuberculosis Sanatorium, and
shall have power to make such by-laws, rules and regulations not incon-
sistent with the law as they may deem necessary and proper for the
public welfare and best interests of the institution and its inmates. It
shall also have power to appoint necessary officers for conducting said
sanatorium, agents and employes who shall be removable at its pleasure.
They shall make a report of its proceedings, receipts and expenditures,
annually in January of each year to the governor of the State, who shall
submit the same, with such recommendations as he may deem proper, to
the general assembly at its next session thereafter. The governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the senate shall biennially appoint
