in such article, and the indebtedness remains unpaid and owing,
such jewelers or silversmiths may after one month's notice in
writing to the owner of such article notifying such owner of
the amount due, by mailing such notice directed to the owner's
last known address, or if the owner be unknown, by written or
printed notice set up at the Court House door of the county
or City of Baltimore and the bill remains unpaid, sell such
article at public or private sale to satisfy such claim, and the
proceeds after paying expenses of such sale, be applied in
liquidation of such indebtedness, and the balance, if any, be
paid over to such debtor.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 654.

"AN ACT to declare the sanction and consent of the General
Assembly of Maryland to sundry gifts, bequests and devises
contained in the last wills and testaments of certain per-
sons, late of the State of Maryland, deceased, and also to
certain gifts, grants, sales, leases and deeds made by various
persons in this State to and for the use and benefit of sundry
ministerial persons, religious corporations, denominations or
sects, and to certain charitable institutions.

"SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the sanction and consent of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland be and the same is hereby declared, given and
granted to the following gifts, bequests, devises, grants, sales,
leases and deeds, to and for the use and benefit of certain min-
isterial persons, religious corporations, denominations or sects,
and to certain charitable institutions as herein set forth.

"1. To the bequest of $1,000.00 to the Home Mission of
the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the General Synod in the
United States of America (correct title, 'Board of Home Mis-
sions of the General Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church
in the United States of America'), and $1,000.00 to the Third
English Evangelical Lutheran Church of the City of Baltimore,
as contained in the last will and testament of Daniel Rider,
recorded in the office of the Register of Wills of Baltimore
City in Wills Liber B. E. S. No. 104, folio 291.

"2. To the grant and lease made and executed by Boston
Fear and Elizabeth Fear, his wife, to the Wilson Memorial
