construed to interfere with or relate to any contract work of
any of the roads or bridges in said county now or hereafter
to be entered into by said Commissioners.
SEC. 279C. That at all times while the teams and road
equipment are engaged in the regular road work they shall be
under the exclusive control and management of the County
Road Engineer, but at all times when the team is not working
they shall be under the control and management of the County
Commissioners; and it shall be the duty of the County Road
Engineer to submit to the County Commissioners for their
information the price of all bridge and road material recom-
mended by him to be purchased for use in the repair or
rebuilding of the roads and bridges, as hereinbefore provided
to be repaired and rebuilt, before same shall be purchased by
the County Commissioners, and also the quantity, price and
quality of food required for the teams. It is expressly under-
stood that all materials, supplies, feed, equipment, etc., for
use on the county roads and bridges are to be purchased by
the said County Commissioners, and same shall be inspected
and passed upon, and all bills certified as correct by the said
County Road Engineer before being paid.
SEC. 279D. That the said County Road Engineer, when-
ever requested by the County Commissioners to do so, shall
take charge of and supervise all contract work on the county
roads and bridges entered into by the said County Commis-
sioners with the State Roads Commission, or under the pro-
visions of the Shoemaker Act, when not actually engaged in
the general road work of said county.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any law or laws, or part or
parts of any law or laws heretofore enacted and affecting or
pertaining to the County Commissioners or roads and ditches
in said Dorchester county, be and the same are hereby saved
and shall remain in full effect and force, except so far as the
same or any of them may be repealed by or may be inconsist-
ent and in conflict with the provisions of this act.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
