SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

CHAPTER 475.
AN ACT to amend the charter of the Home Mutual Society of
America, incorporated.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Home Mutual Society of America, incorporated,
be and it is hereby empowered, upon completing the deposit of
ten thousand ($10,000) dollars with the Insurance Commis-
sioner of Maryland, heretofore authorized, and thereafter main-
taining the legal reserve as provided by its charter and amend-
ments thereto, may, subject to its rules and regulations, grant
to members in good standing and not in arrears, on their certifi-
cates, the privilege of a cash surrender value or a paid-up mem-
bership certificate, based upon said legal reserve as computed
according to industrial insurance valuations.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 476.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 81 of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled "Revenue and Taxes," to be
known as Section 132A.

CHAPTER 477.
AN ACT to provide for the refunding and extension of so much
of the State debt maturing January 1st, nineteen hundred
and fourteen, known as the "Consolidated Loan of 1899,"
created and authorized by Chapter 219 of the Acts of 1898,
as shall not constitute part of the various sinking funds of
the State on the first day of October, nineteen hundred and
thirteen, and for the purpose of providing for the issue of
State bonds or certificates of indebtedness to the amount of
