therein is concerned, may be such as may be now, or at any time
hereafter, provided by any lawful general ordinance or ordi-
nances of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, for the
condemnation of land or property, or interest therein, for public
purposes by the City of Baltimore, or such as may be provided
for the special purpose by any special ordinance or ordinances
of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, which said special
ordinance or ordinances the said Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore is hereby duly authorized to adopt; provided that, in
every such special ordinance, provision is made for reasonable
notice to the owner or owners, and for appeal to the Baltimore
City Court, including the right of appeal to the Court of
Appeals by any person interested, including the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore, from the decision of the commis-
sioners or other persons appointed to value any such land, prop-
erty or thing, or interest, franchise, easement, right or privilege
therein; but so far as the acquisition, by condemnation, of any
land, property or things situated in Baltimore county or Anne
Arundel county, or any interest, franchise, easement, right or
privilege therein, is concerned the proceedings shall be such as
may be provided by any Public General or Local Law that may
now or hereafter be in force in said counties, respectively, and
applicable to the acquisition of private property for public use
by condemnation; provided that nothing herein contained shall
be construed to take away from the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore any power of condemnation which it now possesses
or to qualify or affect any title, right or interest which the said
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore now has in the present
Light Street Bridge and the abutments thereof and approaches
thereto, and land or other property contiguous to the termini
thereof; and full power and authority is hereby given to the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to acquire any land,
property, right easement or franchise which, by this act it is
authorized to acquire, by purchase from the owner or owners
thereof, and to provide, by Ordinance, the manner of making
such purchase or purchases and the party or parties to act in
that behalf on the part of the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more, and to exercise the same jurisdiction over said bridge
hereby authorized to be constructed and over all the property by
this act authorized to be acquired, and so acquired, as if the
same lay within the territorial limits of Baltimore City.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That in order to provide
money to defray the cost of carrying all or any of the pur-
poses of the provisions of this act into execution, the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore is hereby authorized to issue
