ing, maintaining and operating its property, works, plants,
facilities and connections for the establishment of its business-
as a going concern.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 428.
AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore
to build a new bridge over the Patapsco River, from a point
on the north side of said river, at or near the present north-
ern terminus of the Light Street Bridge to a point in Anne
Arundel county, at or near the present southern terminus
of the Light Street Bridge, either directly or by way of the
point of Baltimore county between the Patapsco River and
Spring Gardens, and to acquire all property necessary for
abutments or approaches to said bridge, and to exercise juris-
diction over such property and said bridge, and to authorize
the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to issue its stock
to an amount not exceeding two million dollars ($2,000,-
000), the proceeds thereof to be used for the construction of
said bridge and for acquiring the land and other property
herein authorized to be acquired, and to provide for the sub-
mission of said loan to the legal voters of Baltimore City
for their adoption or rejection and to authorize the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore to remove or otherwise dis-
pose of the present Light Street Bridge.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore be and
it is hereby authorized to construct a new bridge over the
Patapsco River, from a point on the north side of said river,
at or near the present northern terminus of the Light Street
Bridge, to a point in Anne Arundel county, at or near the
present southern terminus of the Light Street Bridge; the
said bridge to be constructed in such manner, of said material
and of such width (not less than sixty feet) as the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore may, by ordinance prescribe; and,
for the purpose of providing landing places, abutments and
approaches for said bridge, the Mayor and City Council of
