tion 203A, and to be known as section 203B, said two sections as
herein enacted to read as follows:

SEC. 203A. That in every criminal case brought before any
justice of the peace for Dorchester county, wherein the defend-
ant is found guilty, upon confession or trial, and is fined, it
shall be the duty of the justice of the peace to collect the fine at
once, and on the first Monday of every month to make out a
list of all the cases in which a fine was imposed, and in said list
he shall give the date of each fine, and he shall credit himself
with every fine which the defendant refused or failed to pay,
and was thereupon ordered to stand committed till fine and costs
were paid; and whenever required by the Treasurer of Dorches-
ter County any such justice of the peace shall produce before
said Treasurer his criminal docket; such justice of the peace
shall on the first Monday of every month, as aforesaid, pay to
the Treasurer of Dorchester County the amount of the fines
which he has collected to said date and has not before paid over
to the said treasurer, and all fines received by the said treas-
urer as aforesaid shall be applied by the County Commissioners
toward county expenses in Dorchester county; and if the said
justice of the peace refuses or fails to pay over to the Treasurer
of Dorchester County the amount of such fines collected by him
for one month after he is herein required to pay the same over,
he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction thereof
he shall be sentenced to be confined in the county jail for not
more than six months and pay a fine equal to the amount of the
money collected by him and not paid over.

SEC. 203B. Each of said justices of the peace before enter-
ing upon the duties of his office shall give to the State of Mary-
land a good and sufficient bond, with the security to be approved
by the County Commissioners of Dorchester County, in the pen-
alty of five hundred dollars; said bond to be conditioned that
each of said justices will truly and faithfully discharge, execute
and perform all and singular the duties and obligations of jus-
tices of the peace, and that he will account for and pay over to
the County Commissioners of Dorchester County, or to whomso-
ever else may be hereafter or otherwise designated by law, as the
proper recipient thereof, all fines, penalties and forfeitures, or
the portion thereof which he is bound to account for and pay
over as aforesaid; and that he will faithfully and truly account
for and pay over to the person or corporation entitled to receive
the same all money belonging to such person or corporation
which may come into his hands as justice of the peace; pro-
vided, however, that nothing in the preceding sections 203A and
