52 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [Ch 14].

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That said police officer shall
have all the powers of a county constable and during the months
of each year when he is not receiving pay from the county he
shall be entitled to receive all the fees allowed a county con-
stable in making arrests and performing the other duties per-
formed by constables in the county.

SEC. 4. And be U enacted, That the said county commis-
sioners of Anne Arundel county shall arm and equip said police
officer and shall pass such rules and regulations as they may
deem proper to have the said police officer efficiently patrol said
public roads.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 14.

AN ACT to regulate the salaries of school teachers in Prince
George's county, Maryland, and to provide for the levying
by the County Commissioners of said county of the funds
necessary to provide for the payment of the salaries of such
teachers.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That on and after the first day of September, 1912, all
white teachers regularly employed in the public schools of
Prince George's county, holding a first-class teacher's certifi-
cate and having taught for a period of three years in any of
the public schools of the State of Maryland, shall receive as
salary not less than four hundred and fifty ($450) dollars per
annum; and all such teachers holding a first-class teacher's
certificate and having taught in any of the public schools of the
State of Maryland for a period of five years shall receive as
salary not less than five hundred ($500) dollars per annum;
and all such teachers holding a first-class teacher's certificate
and having taught in any of the public schools of the State of
Maryland for a period of eight years, shall receive as salary
not less than six hundred dollars ($600) per annum; and all
teachers employed in the public schools of Prince George's
county holding a second-class certificate and having taught in
any of the public schools of the State of Maryland for a period
of eight years, shall receive as salary not less than four hun-
dred and fifty ($450) dollars per annum.
