the first day of July, nineteen hundred and twelve, to be applied
by the said board of trustees in furnishing tuition to one male
or female student from each senatorial district of this State, and
appointed by the School Commissioners in said senatorial dis-
trict, by and with the advice and consent of the senator in their
respective senatorial districts, after a competitive examination
of the candidates; provided that the said appointment shall
not be held by the same student for more than four years, and
that each student receiving such appointment shall give bond
to the State of Maryland for such amount and with such secu-
rity as may be approved by the president of said college, that he
or she will teach school within the State for not less than two
years after leaving college.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 330.

AN ACT to authorize the Board of Public Works of Maryland
to lease a building or part of a building in Baltimore City
for the purpose of .providing offices for the various State
agencies located and having offices in Baltimore City, and
appropriating a sum of money for the rent thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Public Works is hereby authorized to
lease for a term of years not exceeding fifteen, a building or
part of a building, situated in Baltimore City for the purpose
of providing offices to be used and occupied by any and all
of the State agencies, appointees or authorities having an office
now or that may hereafter require an office to be located in
Baltimore City. The lease may provide, at the option of the
Board of Public Works for the purchase of the said property
by the State for a sum agreed upon.
