SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections 16, 17 and 18 of Chapter 275 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at the Jan-
uary Session, 1896, be and the same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That section 18 of Chap-
ter 372 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed at the January Session, 1898, be and the same is hereby
repealed.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 7.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments sections 158
and 160c of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Charles County" sub-title "Roads and Bridges," as
said sections were enacted by Chapter 50 of the Acts of
1910.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections 158 and 160c of Article 9 of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title "Charles County," sub-title "Roads
and Bridges," as enacted by Chapter 50 of the Acts of 1910, be
and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments so as to read as follows:
158. From and after the first day of April, 1912, the
control and regulation of the construction and repair of the
public roads and bridges in Charles county shall be entrusted
to the County Commissioners for said Charles county, who shall
name nine supervisors of roads or one for each district in said
county, at a salary not to exceed two dollars per day of actual
service, and to have charge of the work of repairing, con-
structing and reconstructing the public roads and bridges of
Charles county, subject to the supervision of the Roads Engi-
neer as hereinafter provided, with the right to employ such
help, obtain such teams and implements, as they may deem
necessary for the work of repairing, constructing and recon-
structing such roads and bridges, to be paid by the treasurer
upon the order of said County Commissioners. The wages to
be paid for laborers on such roads shall be one dollar and
twenty-five cents per day. The said County Commissioners
shall as soon as possible after the first day of April, 1912,
appoint some competent person, who shall be a skilled and
experienced civil engineer, who shall hold his office for the
