362 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [Ch, 185]

CHAPTER 185.

AN ACT to amend Chapter 14 of the Acts of 1872 of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, entitled "An Act to change the
name of the Children's Aid Society of Baltimore to the name
of the Henry Watson Children's Aid Society of Baltimore,
and otherwise to amend the constitution of said society" by
adding four additional sections thereto to be known as sec-
tions T, 8, 9 and 10, said additional sections conferring addi-
tional powers upon said corporation.

WHEREAS, The Henry Watson Children's Aid Society of Balti-
more-was incorporated by Chapter 14 of the Acts of 1872 of
the General Assembly of Maryland, and has been for many
years past and is now actively engaged in the care of desti-
tute and neglected children, especially by providing them
homes in the counties of Maryland; and,

WHEREAS, Numerous changes in the statutes of Maryland relat-
ing to children who have no proper care or guardianship have
been made since the said society was incorporated in 1872,
and it is therefore desirable that the charter of said society
be amended so as to establish the authority of said society
to continue its work under the statutes passed since the year
1872; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 14 of the Acts of 1872 of the General
Assembly of Maryland, entitled "An Act to change the name
of The Children's Aid Society of Baltimore" to the name of
The Henry Watson's Aid Society of Baltimore, and otherwise
to amend the constitution of said society, be and hereby is
amended by the addition of four additional sections, to be
known as sections 7, 8, 9 and 10, which additional sections are
hereby enacted to read as follows:

SEC. 7. The said society shall have all the powers and
authority mentioned in Chapter 78 of the Acts of 1906 of the
General Assembly of Maryland, and any amendments, addi-
tions or supplements thereto, which said chapter confers cer-
tain powers and authority upon corporations incorporated under
the General Laws for the purposes of the care, custody, guar-
dianship or protection of minors.

SEC. 8. The said society shall be authorized to receive com-
mitments of minors, as provided by Chapter 626 of the Acts of
