son or body corporate who shall catch or take fish by any of
the nets mentioned above, or shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more
than one hundred dollars, and ten dollars per day for each
day said nets shall be allowed to remain in said creek.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 137.

AN ACT to appropriate the sum of one hundred thousand dol-
lars for the improvement of the Maryland Tuberculosis San-
atorium.

(Vetoed.)

CHAPTER 138.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section 5 Y of
Article 77 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland
of 1904, entitled "Public Education," sub-title "Teachers,"
the same being designed to make the minimum salary law
for white teachers apply to all schools averaging ten or more
pupils.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 57 of Article 77 of the Code of Public "Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland of 1904, entitled "Public Education,"
sub-title "Teachers," be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:

57. The salaries of the teachers of each county shall be
fixed by the Board of County School Commissioners, subject
to the provisions of any public local law or public general law
now in force or hereafter to be passed, provided, that no white
teacher regularly employed in a public school of the State of
Maryland, having an average attendance of ten or more pupils,
shall receive as salary less than three hundred dollars per
school year, provided Garrett county shall be exempted from
the provisions of this act.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
August 1, 1912.
