SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is hereby
authorized and required to draw his warrant upon the Treas-
urer in favor of Garrett County School Board for the sum of
four thousand cellars per annum for two years out of the pro-
ceeds of the State school tax before making apportionment
thereof; provided, however, that no portion of said four thou-
sand dollars per annum shall be used for any other purpose than
for salaries and ordinary running expenses of said schools.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate the Garrett County Railway Company
and to declare its rights, powers, privileges and franchises.

CHAPTER 115.
AN ACT to repeal section 183 of Article 81 of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled. "Revenue and Taxes," sub
title "Tax on Mortgages", as amended and re-enacted by the
Act of 1906, Chapter 794, as amended and re-enacted by
the Act of 1908, Chapter 283, as amended and re-enacted
by the Act of 1910, Chapter 544, and to re-enact said section
with amendment.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 183 of Article 81 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, entitled "Revenue and Taxes," sub-title "Tax on
Mortgages," as amended and re-enacted by the Act of 1906,
Chapter 794, as amended and re-enacted by the Act of 1908,
Chapter 283, as amended and re-enacted by the Act of 1910,
Chapter 544, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:
SEC. 183. All mortgagees or assignees holding mortgages on
real estate of record in Somerset, Montgomery, Frederick and
Dorchester counties shall annually pay a tax of eight per cent.
